Meiji America is a renowned leader in the food manufacturing industry, dedicated to producing high-quality products that meet the needs of our customers.  We are seeking an experienced Human Resources Manager with a desire to grow. This role is responsible for supporting the VP of Human Resources with all HR functions, and acting as a strategic partner to internal teams. The HR Manager will ensure the effective management of HR policies, procedures, and compliance across the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the recruitment process, including conducting interviews and making hire recommendations, to maintain a highly qualified and diverse workforce.
  • Conduct and/or coordinate exit interviews to identify reasons for employee separations and provide insights for improvement.
  • Partner with department managers to address personnel-related matters and offer HR guidance.
  • Investigate employee grievances and complaints, working toward fair resolutions and fostering a healthy work environment.
  • Develop, update, and enforce company policies, procedures, and guidelines, ensuring alignment with organizational values.
  • Advise on policies related to equal employment opportunities, compensation, and employee benefits.
  • Oversee and maintain records required by law, government reporting, and internal departments.
  • Ensure company compliance with the latest employment law changes and adjust policies and practices accordingly.
  • Maintain accurate records of personnel transactions (hires, promotions, transfers, reviews, terminations) for compliance and reporting purposes.

Qualifications:

  • The preferred candidate will have experience as an HR professional in a food manufacturing environment.
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in HR Generalist or HR Management roles.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
  • Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage confidential information and exercise sound judgment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proven ability to maintain open communication with all levels of the organization.
  • Desire and ability to grow into higher level HR position (if available).

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or a related field.
  • Progressive HR generalist and leadership experience required.

Computer Skills:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
